Graduating senior Eric LeGrand gave the Class of 2014 Commencement Address to a roaring ovation. Since his severe spinal cord injury during a football game in 2010, and throughout his continuing rehabilitation, LeGrand has become a nationally regarded motivational speaker. Completing his bachelor of arts in labor studies and employment relations, LeGrand was awarded his degree by President Barchi.
The largest graduating class in the history of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey gathered at Highpoint Solutions Stadium for the 248th Anniversary Commencement, May 18, 2014. With the establishment of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, over sixteen thousand graduates will be awarded degrees this year.
